Fair Climate Network (FCN) – Mbeere North, is a Community Based Organisation (CBO) founded in 2022, which seeks to facilitate linkage to partners and manage projects implemented by grassroots groups (400 currently) in Mbeere North, Embu County - Kenya.These range from self-help groups, youth groups, women groups and agricultural groups.
FCN has currently 32 institutional members with representation of at least one member from each sub location in Mbeere North.
FCN is a Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Champion through Ecopreneurship.
We place Ecopreneurship at the center of our climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts to enhance adoption and adhere to our pro-poor orientation.
Method(s) Used to Achieve Objectives
- Capacity Building on Climate smart agriculture, climate change adaptation and mitigation;
- Advocacy on Ecopreneurship and circular farming;
- Tying every climate change mitigation and adaptation project with an economic benefit to the actors.
Project(s)
- Capacity building of grassroots CBOs in Mbeere North with HSF;
- Advocacy on Sorghum farming as a resilient crop with PACJA;
- Advocacy on Castor farming as an effective method of utilizing idle land with SAFA limited;
- Promoting propagation and agroforestry of Melia Volkensii with The Nature Conservancy (TNC).
