Middle East & Northern Africa
The regional network of the MENA region includes Mashreq and Maghreb and is coodinated by HSF Jordan.
For this region, four key thematic areas have been identified that will be supported to support regionale and worldwide efforts to halt climate change. These areas have been determined based on reviewing the scientific literature, national reports, and the results of the consultation
sessions with HSF's long-term partners in the environment and climate fields.
The four key thematic areas are:
- Supporting resilient food and water systems
- Realising carbon neutrality
- Protecting biodiversity and eco-systems
- Reducing plastic pollution
These areas have been selelected as they are closely connected to climate change, adressing them is crusial for sustainable development and combating climate change, and they can be mitigated through the reduction of emissions.
